Video: Leopard seen strolling in Bengaluru’s Electronic City

A leopard was spotted strolling in Bengaluru’s Electronic City early on Tuesday morning. The leopard was seen crossing a flyover road near a toll plaza at 3 am.
The animal’s movement raised concerns amongst residents and those working in the technology hub of Bengaluru; Electronic City. The area is now on high alert following the sighting.

Police and forest officials suspect that it is the same leopard that was spotted last week in Jigani.
The principal of Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) Sunil Joshi, stated that they received an update. A camera near the toll gate captured a leopard passing near the compound wall.
The principal informed that precautionary checks were conducted on the campus.
Joshi said, “The forest department officials also came to reconfirm and said that no leopard was seen. An image suggested that it moved from the compound wall, so we took the necessary precautions, as this is a training centre. There was news last week that a leopard was sighted in the Jigani area, so it might have appeared here. Forest officials are alert, and they have assured us that they are tracking it. They will visit again in the evening.”
The principal of NTTF stated that all rooms on the campus were thoroughly checked and CCTV footage was reviewed. “There is no trace of the leopard on our premises so far. The police arrived on site and informed us about the sighting. We got to know about this case from them. It was confirmed by 8:30 yesterday that no leopard was sighted here, so we have resumed classes today. The leopard was spotted walking near the pathway next to the compound, but we don’t know where it went next. So we conducted precautionary checks.”
A leopard was seen on CCTV strolling around Bengaluru’s Jigani last week. Officials in that case suspected that the leopard might have come from Ragihalli Forest or Bannerghatta Forest areas.
